This is me, a young(ish) mother of two. I have a boy who is five and a girl of three. They are my world but they have also been the biggest challenge of my life. I suffered from Post Natal Depression with both my children, more so with the first. I went into parenthood with everything planned.

How does the old age saying go? “Ignorance is bliss? Well, no it is not. Especially when it comes to children with additional needs. I have noticed more and more lately, that people do not understand children with additional needs. They do not seem to comprehend that their minds do not work the same and things that seem little to us are actually a big deal to them.

As I was growing up I always saw Pastor’s wives as strong and passionate women of God. I always marvelled at their faith and how supportive they were to their husband’s in service to God. They were always humble and kind. Their support to the church was also vita; especially the wife of the pastor at the church I worshipped at whilst at university.
