1. The Passion of The Christ 

“My heart is ready” 

This 2004 blockbuster directed by actor Mel Gibson, caused controversy because of its violent depictions of Christ’s crucifixion. 

 

 

2. Risen

“I have seen two things which cannot reconcile: A man dead without question, and that same man alive again. I pursue Him, the Nazarene, to ferret the truth”

 Directed by Kevin Reynolds, this 2016 American Biblical drama follows a Roman soldiers search for Jesus’ body.

 

 

3. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

“It is finished”

Adapted from CS Lewis’ fantasy novel, four children and Aslan the lion (who represents the Christ figure) join forces on a mission to overcome the evil powers of the White Witch.

 

 

4. Ben Hurr

“In His eagerness to save you, your god has also saved the Roman Fleet”

 Charleston Heston stars in this multi-Academy award winning epic historical drama, where he plays Judah, a gladiator who witnesses the crucifixion of Jesus.

 

 

6. Man of Steel

“People are afraid of what they don’t understand”

 This 2013 release is a retelling of the Marvel Superhero character Superman and his orginal story. Many say his character and `resurrection’ mirrors the story of Christ’s victory over death. 

 

 

6. Frozen

“Some people are worth melting for”

 A Walt Disney production famous for the song ‘Let It Go’. This story sees the sacrificial love of a sister who goes on a quest to break the icy curse that enslaves her sibling Elsa.
